Alliance Deliveries Delayed until Nov. 13

In a move that is likely to send ripples through the market,particularly around Chicago, the 1.325 Bcf/d Alliance Pipelineextended its commercial in-service delay last week to Nov. 13 fromOct. 30. Pipeline officials said moisture and debris in the linecaused the delay.

Transportation Notes

Due to startup delays, El Paso has extended maintenance on theWaha GE turbine and will notify shippers when it returns toservice. Meanwhile, the IMLWAHA interconnect will remain limited to60 MMcf/d. Waha Solar turbine maintenance has been delayed untilcompletion of work on the GE turbine. One-day maintenance on theHackberry 2 turbine that was scheduled for Sunday will bepostponed, El Paso said.

The U.S. Transportation Department’s Office of Pipeline Safety(OPS) has ordered all three of the pipes comprising El Paso NaturalGas’ 1 Bcf/d South Mainline from Texas to California to remainclosed until extensive tests can be done to ensure they are safe tooperate.

El Paso extended completion of Gallup Station maintenance thatbegan June 10 through today, continuing a reduction of San JuanBasin capacity by 250 MMcf/d. The Gallup C turbine will remain downas originally scheduled through June 20. However, because othermaintenance actions may delay the station’s return to fulloperation, a San Juan capacity reduction of 200 MMcf/d startingSaturday may last as long as June 22, a spokesman said.

Florida Gas Transmission issued an Overage Alert Day noticeTuesday morning for that gas day and extended the notice through atleast today. Citing significant demand in its market area, FGTapplied the notice to the downstream segment east of Station 12 innorth-central Florida. The notice carried a 6% tolerance fornegative daily imbalances; however, FGT said if conditions do notimprove, it may cut the percentage prior to the start of today’sgas day.
