East Tennessee Natural Gas (ETNG) pipeline has executed agreements with Eastman Chemical Co. to provide an additional 86 MMcf/d of firm gas transportation capacity for 25 years to Eastman’s Kingsport, TN, facility. The projects have a combined capital cost of about $120 million and include modifying existing ETNG facilities and building a new 6.4-mile pipeline extension. Coupled with Eastman’s current contracts, ETNG will provide 121 MMcf/d of firm capacity to the Kingsport facility when the projects are completed. The first project, for service of 25 MMcf/d, is expected to begin in November. The Kingsport Expansion Project, to provide 61 MMcf/d, is expected to be in service during the first quarter of 2015. The projects are subject to board and regulatory approvals. ETNG is a unit of Spectra Energy Corp. and Spectra Energy Partners LP.

Pennsylvania Interstate Gas Line Secures Customers

Constitution Pipeline Co. LLC, a development launched in February by frequent partners Williams Partners LP and Cabot Oil & Gas Corp., on Tuesday executed precedent agreements for the proposed 121-mile natural gas pipeline, designed to connect Marcellus Shale production in northeastern Pennsylvania to Northeast markets by spring 2015.

Cardinal Gas Storage Partners LLC unit Cadeville Gas Storage LLC has executed a 10-year precedent agreement with Shell Energy North America (US) LP to construct a depleted reservoir gas storage facility in Ouachita Parish, LA, near the Perryville/Delhi Hub in northeast Louisiana. “…[A]bundant supply has triggered renewed interest in natural gas from a variety of industries, including power generation, commercial and manufacturing sectors,” said Shell Energy North America President Frans Everts. “Cadeville’s strategic location will enhance Shell Energy’s ability to provide attractive supply options to customers located east of the Rockies.” The facility is expected to be in service in 2013 and designed to have 17 Bcf of working gas capacity.

Carrizo-Private Equity JV Targeting Utica Shale

A newly formed joint venture (JV) of Carrizo Oil & Gas Inc. and Avista Capital Partners has closed its first acquisition: 15,000 net acres in the Utica Shale in eastern Ohio and northwestern Pennsylvania at an average cost of less than $1,500/acre, Carrizo said. The deal is the second announcement from the company in the same week as it strengthens its finances to plow ahead in the shales.
