Northern Natural Gas declared a force majeure situation Friday on its 24-inch Mitchell to Spraberry line. The pipeline said it was evaluating the situation and that receipts into the line must be allocated and/or curtailed, but gave no further details in the bulletin board posting.

Columbia Gas Transmission Expands MidWest Project, Holds Open Season

Columbia Gas Transmission and Crossroads Pipeline said Friday that after evaluating the MidWest project’s original open season concluded early this year, they have decided to revise and expand the proposed project to accommodate the completion of power plants in Ohio and western Pennsylvania. As a result, the two NiSource affiliates announced a new open season to begin Friday and run through 4:30 p.m. Dec. 6.

Starting off the new year on an acquisition note, Houston-based Regent Energy Corp. said last Wednesday that it has closed the acquisition of leases in the Bayou Bouillon field from an undisclosed party. According to Ryder Scott, a Houston-based reservoir engineering firm, Bayou Bouillon is a gas field located in a South Louisiana salt dome containing 4.6 Bcfe of proven reserves.
