Alaska Lease Sale Set for November

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is expecting to hold its annual sale of oil and gas lease tracts in the Beaufort Sea, North Slope and North Slope Foothills on Nov. 7. The sale area encompasses 14.7 million acres, an area the size of Massachusetts, Vermont and Connecticut combined.

Enterprise: Eagle Ford Projects on Track for 2Q Completion

Enterprise Products Partners LP said Thursday construction is progressing on two pipeline projects to serve the Eagle Ford Shale, which encompasses more than 10 million acres in Texas. The projects are slated to offer more than 200 MMcf/d of incremental capacity from the play in LaSalle and Webb counties in Texas.

Kinder Morgan has named Tom Martin president of its Natural Gas Pipelines Group, which encompasses approximately 25,000 miles of pipelines with a transportation capacity of more than 22 Bcf/d and about 400 Bcf of working gas storage capacity. Martin joined Kinder Morgan in 2003 and served as president of the Texas Intrastate Natural Gas Pipelines Group since 2005. Duane Kokinda has been named president of the Texas Intrastate Natural Gas Pipelines Group, which operates primarily along the Texas Gulf Coast. The Texas intrastate pipelines include more than 6,000 miles of pipelines with a peak transport and sales capacity of more than 5 Bcf/d. Kokinda joined Kinder Morgan in 1996 and became vice president of business development for Texas Intrastate Pipelines in 2006. Steven J. Kean, who had been serving as president of the Natural Gas Pipelines Group, returns full time to his role as executive vice president and COO of the Kinder Morgan companies.

Prices End Year on Mixed But Mostly Softer Note

Flat to about 15 cents higher pricing in the West and at some points in the Gulf Coast and Midcontinent/Midwest markets was outweighed Wednesday by declines ranging from a little under a nickel to more than 30 cents. Northeast citygates took the heaviest hits as the eastern U.S. continued to see temperatures rise following a frigid holiday weekend.
