A subsidiary of Tulsa-based Empire Petroleum Corp. has acquired producing oil and natural gas assets in the Bakken Shale in Montana and North Dakota for $5.6 million.

FERC has conditionally authorized a request from Empire Pipeline Inc. for its Empire North project, which would provide an additional 205,000 Dth/d of incremental firm interstate natural gas transportation service to local gas distribution markets and market centers in the northeastern United States and Canada.

FERC approved two separate uncontested settlements Thursday, bringing an end to investigations begun early this year into whether a pair of interstate natural gas pipelines set unreasonable rates to recoup costs.
