Transportation Notes

El Paso’s Line 1203, which delivers gas to the Phoenix area from the North Mainline, will have a section out of service Friday through Dec. 1. The line will be lowered to accommodate a road widening and power line relocation project in the city of Avondale. El Paso said it requested a delay to allow better coordination of the outage with customers and other pipeline operations, but the request was denied. The force majeure even will prevent about 70 MMcf/d of the usual 120 MMcf/d that flows south on Line 1203 from the North Mainline (San Juan Basin supplies) from reaching southern portions of the Phoenix metropolitan area (i.e., there will be a reduction of north to south transfer capacity of about 70 MMcf/d. Gas will be supplied to the southern Phoenix area from the South Mainline during the outage.
