FERC Friday issued a favorable environmental assessment (EA) for Cadeville Gas Storage LLC’s proposal to build a high-deliverability natural gas storage facility in northern Louisiana.

Falcon Gas Storage Co. Inc. is holding an open season for capacity at its Worsham-Steed and Hill-Lake Gas Storage Facilities in North Texas trough Feb. 18. Up to 6 Bcf of high-deliverability, multi-cycle (HDMC) firm capacity will be available for service starting April 1. The facilities have 35 Bcf of HDMC capacity with approximately 750,000 Dth/d of maximum withdrawal and injection capacity. Worsham-Steed and Hill-Lake connect directly to five pipelines with a total metered capacity of approximately 2 Bcf, including North Texas Pipeline, Atmos Energy’s Line-X Pipeline, Energy Transfer’s Cleburne Extension, Enbridge Weatherford Plant and Energy Transfer’s Old Ocean Pipeline. FERC has accepted an application by Magnum Gas Storage LLC to construct and operate a high-deliverability, multi-cycle salt cavern natural gas storage facility in central Utah, which would be the first large-scale underground gas storage facility to be developed in the western United States, Magnum said.

Cadeville Gas Storage LLC, which is owned by Cardinal Gas Storage Partners LLC, has filed an application at FERC to build a high-deliverability natural gas storage facility in northern Louisiana.

DTE Gas Storage has launched a binding open season for natural gas storage services at the Washington 10 storage complex, which is north of Detroit.

The Magnum Gas Storage project — the first large-scale, high-deliverability, multi-cycle salt cavern natural gas storage facility proposed for development in the West — is holding a nonbinding open season for storage services through July 31.

Monroe Gas Storage Co., a venture of Foothills Energy Ventures LLC and High Sierra Energy LP, is holding a binding open season for up to 1 Bcf of firm, high-deliverability capacity at its Monroe Gas Storage facility under construction near Amory, MS. The facility will use a depleted gas reservoir to provide multi-cycle storage with a maximum injection capability of 445 MMcf/d and a maximum withdrawal capability of 465 MMcf/d. The project will have dual interconnections to Texas Eastern Transmission Co. in the M1 market zone and Tennessee Gas Pipeline into the 500 Leg in Zone 1.
