Caledonia Energy Partners LLC has asked the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for authorization to raise the maximum storage capacity at its facility in Lowndes and Monroe counties, MS, to 28.1 Bcf from 22.7 Bcf. Working gas capacity would increase to 22 Bcf from 16.9 Bcf. The maximum daily withdrawal rate would be 550 MMcf/d, and the maximum injection rate would be 558 MMcf/d. Caledonia Energy said it would not have to construct any additional facilities to make the additional capacity available.

Goodrich Petroleum Corp., which is drilling in Texas’ Panola and Rusk counties, said the Billy Harris No. 1H, a horizontal well in a portion of the Haynesville Shale, produced into sales at a 24-hour peak production rate of 12.2 MMcf/d on a 24/64-inch choke with 6,000 pounds per square inch (psi) of pressure. The well, which Goodrich owns and operates, was drilled and completed with a 5,000-foot lateral and 20 hydraulic fracturing stages. A fourth horizontal well also was completed in Goodrich’s Cotton Valley/Taylor Sand holdings. The GT Waldrop 5H, which the company also owns and operates, is in “early stages of flow back,” and to date has a 24-hour peak production rate of 4.1 MMcf/d. The producer in 2009 completed its second operated well in East Texas, the Lutheran Church 5HR in Panola County, which had an initial production rate of 9 MMcf/d on a 26/64-inch choke with 4,375 psi (see NGI, June 8, 2009).

DCP Midstream LLC announced the startup of new facilities servicing the Anadarko-Woodford Shale resource play development in Oklahoma’s Blaine and Canadian counties. The installation of a new high-pressure booster with associated gathering and discharge pipelines is the first phase of DCP Midstream’s development in central Oklahoma. Initially, 15 MMcf/d of capacity will be added. New gas volumes will be delivered to DCP Midstream’s Okarche plant for processing and extraction of natural gas liquids. Producers are positioning themselves in the Anadarko-Woodford Shale and initial production rates are quite promising, the company said.
Caledonia Storage Expansion Gets FERC Thumbs Up
FERC approved Caledonia Energy Partners LLC’s (CEP) proposal to expand to 16.9 Bcf its 11.7 Bcf storage facility located in Monroe and Lowndes counties in northeast Mississippi. The expansion is expected to increase maximum daily withdrawal capability to 477 MMcf/d from the current 330 MMcf/d.

EOG Resources Inc. has retained Meagher Oil & Gas Properties Inc. to sell operated producing properties in Oklahoma’s Lincoln and Oklahoma counties. The package includes an average 99% working interest (80% net revenue interest) in 6,442 net acres in 30 sections of which 2,463 acres are producing. The assets include 19 wells within a six-mile radius producing high-Btu gas from the Pen and Cleveland sands, EOG said. Production is 954 Mcf/d , with 2.5 b/d of oil net projected for June. Estimated net cash flow for June is $270,000. A salt water disposal well and water lines are in place. Upside, said EOG, includes one additional Peru location identified and two Hunton/Oswego extensional locations. The bid due date is May 22; the effective date is June 1.
