Koch Pondering Bakken Crude Pipeline

Koch Pipeline Co. LP is holding a nonbinding open season for the Dakota Express Pipeline, which would carry crude oil from the Bakken Shale in western North Dakota to Hartford and Patoka, IL. A connection at Patoka to the Eastern Gulf Crude Access Pipeline to carry crude to Gulf Coast refineries is also contemplated.

Enbridge Completes Bakken Pipe Project

Enbridge Bakken Pipeline Co. Inc. has completed and placed in service its 77-mile Bakken Pipeline Project Canada, which connects to the Enbridge Pipelines Inc. (EPI) Mainline and carries crude oil from the Bakken Shale to North American refinery markets, Enbridge Energy Partners LP (EEP) and Enbridge Income Fund said Monday.

DTE Pipeline Co. began Tuesday began operation of its Bluestone Gathering pipeline system in Susquehanna County, PA. The southern portion of the pipeline connects gas production of Southwestern Energy to the Tennessee Gas Pipeline in Lenox Township, PA (see Shale Daily, July 6, 2011). The pipeline has a capacity of 275 million cubic feet per day. The remaining 32 miles of pipeline will interconnect with the Millennium Pipeline in Sanford, NY and should be completed in January, DTE said. Bluestone Gathering is being developed as the Bluestone Pipeline Co. of Pennsylvania LLC, Bluestone Gas Corp. of New York Inc. and Susquehanna Gathering Co. I LLC, all of which are subsidiaries of DTE Pipeline, an affiliate of DTE Energy. Bluestone is DTE’s first natural gas gathering project outside Michigan. DTE Pipeline also is a 40% owner of the Vector Pipeline, 26.25% owner of the Millennium Pipeline and 33% owner of the recently announced Nexus Gas Transmission System.

Eagle Rock Energy Partners LP said there were no injuries or fatalities from Monday afternoon’s explosion and subsequent fire at a natural gas processing facility in the Texas Panhandle. It is investigating the incident.

1,600 Virginians Without Heat after Line Explodes

United Cities Gas Co.’s two-inch diameter, 7.2 MMcf per hour gasline that connects with a town border station in Wytheville, VAexploded Sunday morning, destroying a house and business. No onewas killed in the accident, but 1,600 residents of Wytheville hadtheir heat cut off and some have not had it restored. The cause ofthe fire is still under investigation.
