Wyoming Interstate Co. LTD, (WIC) a pipeline subsidiary of El Paso Corp., has filed an application to build a major supply lateral and mainline compression facilities to satisfy the growing demand for take-away capacity in the Uintah Basin in Utah.

Columbia Gas Transmission has requested FERC authorization to sell pipeline and compression facilities in northern Pennsylvania to Somerset Gas Gathering of Pennsylvania LLC for an estimated $100,000. It also asked that the facilities be declared gathering that is exempt from FERC jurisdiction.

FERC has rejected Northern Natural Gas Co.’s bid to sell 419 miles of natural gas pipelines and associated compression facilities in Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma to Duke Energy Field Services LP. FERC took this action after denying Duke Energy’s request that the facilities be declared nonjurisdictional gathering.

Rockies Express Pipeline LLC, a partnership of Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, Sempra Pipelines & Storage and ConocoPhillips, has received the FERC go-ahead to begin construction on the second segment of Phase I of the Entrega Pipeline Project, which has been integrated into the mammoth 1,663-mile Rockies Express project and will comprise the western end of the system.

PRB Gas Transportation Inc. has purchased Storm Cat Energy Corp.’s (SCU) gathering assets in Campbell County, WY, near Recluse for $1 million. PRB will provide gathering and compression for Storm Cat’s Recluse-area development properties, which encompass 6,600 gross acres. Storm Cat estimates that these properties currently produce about 3 MMcf/d with production expected to increase to 7 MMcf/d in 2006. Both companies are based in Denver. “This presents an excellent opportunity for PRB to grow its gathering business with SCU’s production, third party producers and from production generated by our own drilling operations,” said PRB CEO Robert Wright. “As this purchase is effective Jan. 1, 2006, the agreements with SCI will have an immediate positive impact on our operating results. We began to sell natural gas and provide management services during the latter part of 2005. We expect that these three new revenue streams will have a very positive impact on our financial results as compared to prior periods.”

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Wednesday issued a certificate to Northern Natural Gas to construct a pipeline and compression expansion in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

FERC has issued a certificate allowing TransColorado Gas Transmission Co. to carry out a mostly compression “North Expansion Project” from the Piceance Basin to the Greasewood Hub in Rio Blanco County, CO.
