U.S. Gas Supply Appears to Maintain Downward Trend
U.S. natural gas production fell an estimated 0.4% sequentially in the first three months of the year from 4Q2006 and was up 2% year-over-year, according to data compiled from public companies by Raymond James & Associates Inc. However, nearly all of the year-over-year increase came from the rebound following 2005 hurricane-related deferrals — actual output fell 1.7%.

More Than Half of PG&E Customers Cut Gas Usage 10% or More
With statistics compiled for the first two full months of the year, more than half of Pacific Gas and Electric Co. natural gas utility residential and small business customers have dropped their monthly use cumulatively more than 10% in January and February. Customers who maintain usage at least 10% below their cumulative use for the same three months last year will earn a 20% rebate on their gas bills for those three months.
