Physical natgas for delivery Tuesday overall inched lower in Monday trading as firm markets in the West were unable to counter soft pricing in Texas, Louisiana, Appalachia and the Northeast.

Physical natural gas for delivery Tuesday was on the rise on Monday aided by a strong screen and double-digit gains at western points prompted by maintenance events. At most market points, gains of a nickel or more were registered and only a few points fell into the loss column.

Physical natural gas for Tuesday delivery posted solid double-digit gains in Monday’s trading as no points followed by NGI traded in the loss column and most points added more than a dime. The NGI National Spot Gas Average rose 13 cents to $2.26 with the greatest gains seen in the East.

Physical natural gas prices for weekend and Monday delivery eased in Friday’s trading as supplies are abundant and traders saw little need to commit to three-day deals.

It was off to the races for weekly gas quotes for the week ended June 3. Not one point followed by NGI fell into the loss column and most points were up 20-30 cents or more.

Natural gas for Thursday delivery jumped once again as weather forecasts called for western heat to migrate east under a broad high pressure ridge. A few points tucked along the Eastern Seaboard registered losses, but otherwise all other market locations scored stout double-digit gains.

Physical natural gas for the extended holiday weekend gained ground as traders elected to use pipeline and storage capacity for incremental purchases.

Natural gas for Wednesday delivery slipped lower in concert with a weak screen in Tuesday’s trading as healthy gains at eastern points were unable to offset slumping quotes at Rockies, California, Gulf and Midwest points.

Physical natural gas for Tuesday delivery surged higher in Monday trading, with nearly all points followed by NGI posting solid double-digit gains and some locations adding as much as 20 cents or more. California points proved to be the day’s top gainers as restrictions and outages had traders utilizing all their tricks to move gas.
