Citing forecasts of cold weather in market-area Zones 5 and 6 limiting its operational flexibility to manage imbalances, Tennessee said it implemented an Imbalance Warning in those zones at the start of Friday’s gas day. All affected delivery point operators were required to keep actual daily takes out of the system equal to or less than scheduled quantities regardless of their cumulative imbalance positions, while receipt point operators had to keep actual daily receipts into the system equal to or greater than scheduled quantities regardless of their cumulative imbalance positions.

OGE Gas Pipeline Unit Downgraded by S&P

Citing a bigger stake taken by a private investment firm, Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services (S&P) Tuesday lowered by two notches the credit rating of a midstream natural gas pipeline subsidiary of Oklahoma-based OGE Energy Corp. The rating for Enogex LLC was further separated from the diversified utility holding company, OGE.

Citing mild weather and limited operational flexibility, Tennessee said a systemwide Imbalance Warning will become effective Saturday. All delivery point operators will be required to keep actual daily takes out of the system equal to or greater than scheduled quantities regardless of their cumulative imbalance position. All receipt point operators must keep actual daily receipts into the system equal to or less than scheduled quantities regardless of their cumulative imbalance position.

Enterprise, Enbridge Propose Shale-Focused Oil Pipeline to Gulf

Citing growing oil production from shale plays, Enterprise Products Partners LP and Enbridge Inc. said Thursday they plan to construct a pipeline to transport crude oil from the oversupplied hub at Cushing, OK, to the Texas Gulf Coast refining complex. Enterprise recently scrapped plans to pursue a similar project with a different partner.

California Governor: Preserve Energy R&D Programs

Citing its job-creation benefits, California Gov. Jerry Brown Monday asked state regulators to restore programs set to expire at the end of this year because state lawmakers failed to pass bills aimed a extending a public goods charge on private-sector utility customer bills.
