Noting that the force majeure declared Monday at Cheyenne Compressor Station remains in effect, Rockies Express (REX) said it had completed an assessment and procured the necessary parts to repair the impacted compressor unit. REX said it had begun removing the damaged transformer Tuesday, “but given the potential for adverse weather conditions, resumption of service is now anticipated to occur on or about Sunday” instead of Thursday as previously hoped. Until further notice nominated quantities through Segment 200 will be limited to 1,550,000 Dth/d, which means AOR/IT, secondary and primary FT volumes are at risk of not being fully scheduled, the pipeline said. Also, REX said it has canceled March 16-17 maintenance at Wamsutter Compressor Station that had been announced last month.

Based on current repair projections, CIG anticipates that the compression will be back in service on June 13, when it plans to schedule full Red Cloud capacity for the June 14 gas day.

Most Points Fall on Cold Moderation, Weekend Factor

Uniform price movement nearly returned to the spot market Thursday. Only flat quotes for NGPL Amarillo Mainline and Cheyenne Hub kept all points from recording declines. Modest warming trends in the South and Northeast combined with the fact that Thursday’s trading covered the weekend through Monday — with the accompanying decline of industrial load — to induce the overall softness.

Industry Brief

The Wyoming Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will offer 207,381 acres of federal land in an oral oil and gas lease auction on Aug. 7 at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Cheyenne. The sale involves 179 parcels with more than 50% of the acreage located in Natrona, Washakie and Weston counties. Protests of the Aug. 7, oil and gas lease auction are due at the BLM Wyoming State Office by 4 p.m. on July 23. The BLM has tentatively scheduled its next lease auction for Oct 7.
