Twin Eagle Resource Management LLC said it will market crude oil rail trans-loading capacity at GT Logistics LLC’s GT OmniPort facility in Port Arthur, TX. GT Logistics operates a unit train facility with about eight miles of track, 18 rail car unloading racks and a two-station barge dock. It maintains direct rail service with the Union Pacific and Burlington NorthernSanta Fe rail lines. The facility has direct access to the Intercoastal Waterway and will have deepwater access after further capital investment, the companies said. GT OmniPort began operations in September and has capacity of 100,000 b/d. Twin Eagle unit Enserco Midstream LLC plans to construct four crude oil storage tanks at the GT OmniPort facility that are expected to be operational in the third quarter. The parties intend to construct additional storage capacity and to establish pipeline connectivity with refiners and other markets in the area. GT OmniPort is adjacent to the Port Arthur refinery community, which has demand for about 2 million b/d of crude oil.

Home heating products retailer Dead River Co. plans to sell and supply compressed natural gas (CNG) to commercial and institutional customers in central, northern and eastern Maine from Xpress Natural Gas’ (XNG) soon-to-be-completed CNG terminal in Washington County, ME, the companies said. The customers to be served typically use at least 75,000 gallons of heating oil annually. Boston-based XNG currently trucks liquefied natural gas to industrial customers. The partnership brings together XNG proprietary technology with Dead River’s more than one hundred years of experience in trucked fuels and energy services.

UGI, Tenaska to Develop Marcellus Gathering System

UGI Corp. has entered into agreements with Tenaska affiliate Tenaska Resources LLC to jointly develop natural gas resources in the Marcellus Shale in north-central Pennsylvania, the company said Monday.

FERC OKs Extension of Tres Palacios Storage Header in Texas

FERC has approved an application of Tres Palacios Gas Storage LLC, a unit of Inergy LP, to build an extension of its header system to a processing plant in south-central Texas.

The University of Massachusetts is switching the Central Heating Plant at its Amherst campus from oil to a liquefied natural gas system, a project that could provide $2 million of fuel cost savings annually, according to the university’s five-year capital plan. The $1.2 million project, which is going into operations this month, will allow the plant to end its practice of burning oil when winter conditions cause gas curtailments, according to The Massachusetts Daily Collegian. The plant will rely primarily on natural gas from Tennessee Gas Pipeline’s Northampton Lateral.

Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline Inc. is holding a binding open season through Dec. 7 for expansion capacity proposed to carry production from the Granite Wash, Cleveland/Tonkawa and Mississippian Lime areas to markets in Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri as well as other intrastate and interstate pipelines. The Straight Blackwell Expansion would involve expanding the capacity of Southern Star’s system beginning in Texas County, OK, along the Straight Blackwell Line (Line Segment 315) extending east to its Blackwell Compressor Station in Kay County, OK. Customer interest will dictate whether Southern Star pursues the expansion and will help define the final parameters of any project, the company said. Southern Star said if the project proceeds, it will, subject to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval, install the necessary facilities to serve all or a portion of the requested capacity. Expansion service could begin Oct. 1. FERC OKs Partial Service on MARC-I Hub Line Project

FERC Thursday approved Inergy subsidiary Central New York Oil and Gas Co.’s (CNYOG) request to begin partial service on its MARC-I Hub Line project in northeastern Pennsylvania on or before Nov. 14, giving northern markets greater access to Marcellus Shale gas. It said it plans to soon seek authorization to place the entire project into operation by Dec. 1.
