CIG canceled a force majeure Thursday at its Mocane Field Compressor Station in Oklahoma and said it was restoring capacity there from 28 MMcf/d to 43 MMcf/d. The force majeure was declared Feb. 20 when a broken compressor pedestal and foundation issues caused severe vibrations in a compressor unit, the pipeline said.

CIG canceled Wednesday the force majeure that it had declared Feb. 25 at Kim Compressor Station near the Picketwire Constraint point (PWC) in southern Colorado following an unforeseen mechanical outage of one compressor unit. Capacity at PWC was restored to 414 MMcf/d from 355 MMcf/d, CIG said.

Salazar Sees New OCS Leasing Plan by Around 2010

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar told a Senate panel Tuesday that he expects the department to have a revised five-year plan for leasing on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) ready by September 2010 or possibly earlier.

Southern Natural Gas said its OFO Type 6 for short imbalances that was issued Thursday would be canceled at the start of Saturday’s gas day. However, the pipeline said it was “too close to call” on whether an OFO for short imbalances would be reinstated for Monday and/or Tuesday.

Transco told shippers Friday that it would implement an Imbalance OFO Saturday due to high linepack. However, the OFO was canceled Saturday morning as Transco said linepack was returning to “acceptable” levels. The following restrictions remain in place until further notice: the pool balancing tolerance is 1%; Transco will not allow any makeup of due-pipeline imbalances; no excess storage injections are allowed; and no incremental parked gas or return of loaned gas will be accommodated.

Transportation Notes

Southern Natural Gas canceled Monday the Type 6 OFO for short imbalances that had been issued last Thursday. But the pipeline said Tuesday a new OFO Type 6 for short imbalances will go into effect at the start of Thursday’s gas day (Jan. 24). An OFO Type 3 Level 2 affecting the Savannah Line and Cypress Line delivery groups until further notice will be implemented at the same time, Southern said. In addition, it will begin allocating/limiting interruptible capacity in the Birmingham, Gadsden, Chattanooga, East Tennessee, Atlanta North and Tallapoosa groups Thursday until further notice.

CBOT Holdings Inc., holding company for the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), canceled special meetings of CBOT Holdings stockholders and CBOT members to vote on the proposed merger with Chicago Mercantile Exchange Holdings Inc. (CME) (see Daily GPI, Oct. 18, 2006).
