Southern California Gas declared a high-linepack OFO for Saturday, saying it would assess Buy-Back charges in accordance with its tariffs to customers who delivered more than 110% of their actual gas usage on the OFO day. It added that when injection capacity falls below 850 MMcf/d, confirmations of firm storage injection nominations will be reduced as outlined in a notice posted on its Envoy electronic bulletin board on July 1, 2005.

CA’s DWR Seeks Natural Gas Consulting Services

As another footnote to the broad impact of historically high and volatile natural gas prices, the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) has released a request-for-offers (RFOs) seeking a consulting firm’s help and advice in dealing with natural gas fuel. Bids from an individual consultant or firm are due Monday, and a contract would start July 1, DWR said.

When its storage injection capacity falls below 850 MMcf/d, confirmations of firm injection nominations will be reduced as outlined in the “Storage Injection Capacity Reductions” notice posted July 1, 2005 on its bulletin board, SoCalGas said.

Southern California Gas changed the start date of maintenance this week on Line 225 from Monday to Tuesday. The end date remains Friday. The work is expected to reduce border delivery capacity at Wheeler Ridge by 200 MMcf/d, and will cause storage capacity losses of 75 MMcf/d (injection) and 250 MMcf/d (withdrawal).
