AGL Resources’ Jefferson Island Storage & Hub (JISH) said it is taking bids on 1.1 million Dth of firm storage capacity that will be available starting April 1, 2007 at its 7.2 MMDth salt dome gas storage facility in Erath, LA, near the Henry Hub. The company also is testing the market for interest in a fourth storage cavern at the facility that would be in service in 2011.

Due to expiring contracts, Atlanta-based AGL Resources announced Tuesday it is soliciting bids for firm and interruptible natural gas storage services that will be available in early 2006 at the company’s Pivotal Energy Development Jefferson Island Storage & Hub (JISH), a salt cavern storage facility in Louisiana.
Vector Plans Open Season for Mainline Expansion
Vector Pipeline LP will hold a non-binding open season beginning Sept. 1 through Sept. 30 for bids on firm capacity for a 2006 mainline expansion project for the natural gas transmission pipeline. The 349-mile pipeline system, which was constructed in 2000, currently transports approximately 1 Bcf/d and has the ability to increase this capacity up to 1.5 Bcf/d by constructing additional compressor stations.

Appalachian producer North Coast Energy said it has received several proposals from third parties interested in buying the company, but at prices lower than where its stock has been trading since its announcement in April that it was examining its strategic alternatives. North Coast shares (NCEB) fell nearly 11% on the news Tuesday morning to $12.12.
