Shale drilling beyond North America may be moving at a snail’s pace but the opportunities for oilfield service operators overseas are “fantastic and phenomenal,” according to Halliburton Co. CEO Dave Lesar.

Production data issued by the Energy Information Administration (EIA) Tuesday — which indicated that increased drilling in the Marcellus Shale has been the leading force in the growth of natural gas production in the northeastern United States — combined with a recent U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) report, demonstrates that the Marcellus Shale is hardly the shrinking violet some mainstream media reports have claimed, according to the Marcellus Shale Coalition (MSC).

Southern California Gas did not extend a high-linepack OFO beyond Sunday’s Intraday cycle nominations. However, although the e-mail notice did not get sent until late afternoon Central time, it issued a new high-linepack OFO for Tuesday with a 10% tolerance for positive daily imbalances.
