FERC has authorized Discovery Gas Transmission LLC to construct a platform and pipeline facilities in South Timbalier Block 283 in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) to extend its system and provide firm transportation for new deepwater natural gas sources in the southeast quadrant of Keathley Canyon, “a frontier area for oil and gas exploration and development.”

Marcellus Water Study Finds Chloride and TSS Risk, But Spill Unlikely

Water samples taken downstream of facilities authorized to treat wastewater from natural gas wells in the Marcellus Shale had elevated concentrations of chloride but not total suspended solids (TSS), although the obverse was true in samples collected downstream of watersheds with shale gas wells drilled on them, according to a report published in the Proceedings of National Academies of Sciences (PNAS).

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has authorized Golden Pass Products LLC to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) from its LNG terminal in Sabine Pass, TX, to countries with which the United States has free trade agreements (FTA), the Houston-based company said.
