In order to provide Georgia customers with liquefied natural gas (LNG)-sourced gas, Southern Natural Gas pipeline has asked FERC for authorization to sell pipeline, proposed compression and associated facilities to Magnolia Enterprise Holdings Inc., a subsidiary of Atlanta-based AGL Resources Inc., for an estimated $20.3 million.

Ozark Gets OK to Uprate System Capacity for Fayetteville Volumes

Ozark Gas Transmission received FERC authorization last Thursday to make a quick fix to its system to increase its maximum capacity from 330 MMcf/d to 400 MMcf/d to handle increased gas volumes coming from the Fayetteville Shale in Arkansas near the eastern end of the Ozark system (CP07-381).

Williams’ Northwest Pipeline has received authorization from FERC to place its 30-inch Parachute Lateral Pipeline project in the capacity-constrained Piceance Basin of Colorado into service. The 37.6-mile pipeline and related facilities will provide 450,000 Dth/d from Williams’ production facilities in Garfield County, CO, to the Greasewood Hub. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved the pipeline project last year (see NGI, Aug. 21, 2006). Affiliate Williams Power also executed a precedent agreement to provide secure transportation service on the lateral for a 15-year term.

FERC OKs Start-Up of Most of Cypress Pipe Facilities

FERC Thursday gave Southern Natural Gas, a pipeline subsidiary of El Paso Corp., authorization to begin service on the bulk of its Cypress Pipeline project, which provides a direct corridor for deliveries of natural gas from the Elba Island liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Georgia to the northern Florida market.

Enstor Gulf Proposes ‘Virtual’ Storage Facility

Enstor Gulf Storage LLC, an affiliate of Houston-based Enstor Operating Co. LLC, has requested FERC authorization to operate what may be the first “virtual” storage facility.
