Being unable to deliver gas to downstream pipelines, Stingray declared a force majeure and began refusing to accept nominations Wednesday until further notice.

Barclays and Excelerate Strike LNG Hedging, Marketing Deal

Barclays Capital and Excelerate Energy LLC have agreed for Barclays to market Excelerate’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargos arriving at its Northeast Gateway deepwater port. Barclays also will provide optimization and hedging services as part of what the firm said is its new Barclays Capital LNG Services division.

With a cold front arriving in the Midwest and moderate cooling load due to start receding Wednesday along the East Coast, prices fell at nearly all points Tuesday. Although hot weather will continue from the western end of the South through the desert Southwest, conditions are generally mild enough elsewhere that there is little call for gas either for heating or power generation.
