Comstock Bolts On in Haynesville, to Trim ’20 Rig Count on Low Natural Gas Prices

Comstock Resources Inc. has beefed up its Haynesville Shale inventory with the all-stock acquisition of an undisclosed operator, but going into 2020 it plans to run fewer rigs in the natural gas-heavy play.

Williams’ gas pipeline unit has named Allison G. Bridges senior vice president of strategic marketing and James C. Moore senior vice president of group planning and development. Both will report to Cuba Wadlington Jr., Williams’ executive vice president and president and CEO of Williams Gas Pipeline. As senior vice president of strategic marketing, Williams said Bridges will continue to have responsibility for customer relations and business development for national accounts, service delivery and e-business initiatives for Williams’ gas pipeline unit. Bridges most recently served as vice president of strategic marketing. As senior vice president of group planning and development, Moore will continue to have responsibility for acquisitions and strategic planning for Williams’ gas pipeline unit. Over the past 24 years, he has held various positions of increasing responsibility, first at Transco and later Williams, in areas including accounting, gas transportation, gas analysis and business development, the company said.
