California Fracking, Pipe Bills Await August Hearings

No hearings have been set as yet for deciding the fate of several natural gas safety bills alive in the California legislature. They will wait for further committee hearings in mid-August when state lawmakers return from a month-long recess that begins Friday. Meanwhile, a number of other states are considering fracking and/or pipeline safety legislative proposals, including Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Texas.

Jordan Cove LNG Backers Considering Export Facility

Backers of one of the two proposed West Coast liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal projects still alive, the Jordan Cove LNG facility and connecting transmission pipeline at Coos Bay, OR, have been encouraged by players in the western natural gas market to change the project to an LNG export facility in the same way that backers of the Kitimat LNG proposal in British Columbia transformed that project.
