A resolution calling on British Petroleum (BP) to assess the risks of drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) on the producer’s stock will be voted on by shareholders at its annual meeting in April. Similar resolutions have been filed to be placed on the ballots at ChevronTexaco’s and ExxonMobil’s annual meetings, while preliminary discussions are under way with Phillips Petroleum.

North Slope, Cook Inlet Lease Sales Bring Bidders

The first of several Alaskan lease sales were completed last week, with the most interest in the state’s North Slope Foothills region, which ended with 170 tracts sold worth $11.2 million. The Cook Inset sale ended with 30 tracts sold for a total of $1.2 million.
