Questar Corp. subsidiary Questar Pipeline Co. announced an open season Monday that is soliciting binding support for an expansion of its Southern System. The expansion is targeted to serve the Uinta, Piceance and Rio Blanco production areas.

Under the season that began Monday and will run through Aug. 16, Questar Pipeline proposes to receive and deliver additional volumes of up to 540,000 Dth/d.

The expansion will create new delivery points to Northwest Pipeline Corp. at Sand Springs, Entrega Pipeline/Rockies Express at Meeker, and Wyoming Interstate Co.’s Piceance Lateral at Greasewood. The new capacity can also be utilized for deliveries to the existing interconnect with TransColorado at Greasewood. Available receipt points will be between Fidlar Station on the west and Greasewood on the east. Additional receipt-point volumes can be made available west of Fidlar, east of Greasewood, at Clay Basin and on Questar Pipeline’s Northern System; however, additional compression and or processing charges may apply.

Depending on customer response and the magnitude of the expansion, Questar said the anticipated in-service date for partial volumes may be as early as Jan. 1, 2008, with the balance of capacity being available Nov. 1, 2008.

The purpose of this open season is to solicit support, determine the optimal size of the expansion, and identify the receipt and delivery points shippers would like to utilize. Additional information and copies of the precedent agreement are available online at www.questarpipeline.com.

The open season will close at 12 MDT on Wednesday, August 16. For more information on the open season, contact Gaylen Haag at (801) 324-5133 (gaylen.haag@questar.com).
