QatarEnergy has signed a 1.8 million metric ton/year (mmty), 15-year contract with Bangladesh’s national natural gas company as the marketing push for North Field LNG continues.

Under the agreement, QatarEnergy’s liquefied natural gas trading arm could begin delivering cargoes to the Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corp. (Petrobangla) starting in 2026. Supply is to be from expansion projects in the North Field, according to reports.

Along with the 2.5 Bcf/d Golden Pass LNG joint venture with ExxonMobil expected to enter full service sometime in 2025, QatarEnergy is expected to launch the largest additions to global LNG export capacity within the decade.
