Tallgrass Pony Express Pipeline LLC has launched a binding open season to gauge interest from crude oil shippers in securing expansion capacity on a section of the 830-mile pipeline.
Pony Express has a capacity of roughly 400,000 b/d, and sources crude from the Williston, Denver Julesburg and Powder River basins.
The system stretches from Guernsey, WY, to Cushing, OK. The pipeline passes through Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas, connecting with three refineries before reaching the oil storage and trading hub at Cushing.
Pony Express is seeking commitments for capacity between the Guernsey origin and Sterling, CO.
Prospective shippers may review details of the open season after signing a confidentiality agreement obtained by contacting Matt Hester, the company said.
The pipeline is operated by Tallgrass Energy LP, which owns and operates more than 8,300 miles of natural gas pipeline and more than 850 miles of crude pipeline across the United States.
Tallgrass did not provide further details on the open season, including the end date.
