Saul Gomez, 38, has been appointed as a deputy secretary for energy in the California Resources Agency, which oversees theDepartment of Conservation’s Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR). Gomez, who was appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown, has been a special assistant for oil, gas and geothermal resources in the Resources agency since 2014. He also oversaw the California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority between 2013 and 2014. He holds a master’s degree in public administration from Columbia University.
