Venture Global LNG, with two proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) export projects underway in Louisiana, has hired Jim Strohman as a senior vice president and project director for Calcasieu Pass LNG in Louisiana. Strohman spent 17 years with Dominion Energy, where he most recently was project director for the Dominion Cove Point LNG facility, the sole LNG export project in operation on the East Coast. Strohman directed Cove Point from planning to initial operation. Strohman is also a retired commander of the U.S. Navy Reserve, where he served for more than 20 years. Calcasieu LNG is scheduled to begin operating in 2022, with Venture’s Plaquemines LNG start up scheduled for 2023.

Enbridge Inc. Executive Vice President Bill Yardley has been elected chairman of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) through October 2019. Yardley is president of Enbridge’s gas transmission and midstream group and chairman of Spectra Energy Partners. Yardley’s priorities are to include promoting the benefits of natural gas infrastructure to policymakers. “These are critical times for our industry, and INGAA’s role as a champion for natural gas infrastructure is more important than ever,” Yardley said. INGAA’s board also elected TransCanada Corp.’s Stanley Chapman III, president of the U.S. natural gas pipelines, as first vice chairman. DTE Midstream’s David Slater, president of gas storage and pipelines, was elected second vice chairman.
