Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, LP announced that Thomas A.Bannigan has been named President of its products pipelineoperations. Bannigan will also continue in his current role asPresident of Plantation Pipe Line Company, which is 51% owned byKinder Morgan. He succeeds William V. Allison who has assumedresponsibility for Kinder Morgan’s natural gas pipeline operations.

Unicom announced that Paul A. Elbert, formerly president andchief CEO of Natural Gas for Michigan-based Consumers PowerCompany, will soon join the utility as its key officer in charge ofcompetitive operations. Elbert has been named executive vicepresident of Unicom and president-Unicom Enterprises, the company’sunregulated subsidiary. Robert J. Manning, executive vice presidentand Unicom’s former president-Competitive Operations, will continueto direct fossil operations and manage the impending divestiture ofthis business. In addition, he will focus organizational efforts onsolving challenges relating to open access and bulk power supply.Elbert’s appointment will coincide with the start of open access onOct. 1 – a time when select business customers will have choice oftheir electricity supplier. In a related announcement, Ruth Ann M.Gillis, formerly senior vice president-Competitive Operations, isappointed senior vice president and CFO, effective Oct. 1. Companyofficials also announced the retirement of John C. Bukovski, seniorvice president and CFO, effective Dec. 31, 1999, after 34 years ofservice. In the intervening months prior to retirement, Bukovskiwill be involved in special strategic initiatives related to themerger with PECO Energy.
