PG&E Energy Trading-Gas Corp. has named Al Pollard to thepost of Midwest basis trader with responsibility for managing theMidwest desk’s basis risk, reporting to Michael L. Axton, directorof gas trading, Midwest. Pollard joins PG&E Energy Trading fromEnron where he has held trading positions in natural gas and powersince 1995.

Carl L. English has been named president and CEO-Gas ConsumersEnergy, the utility unit of CMS Energy Corp. He replaces Paul A.Elbert, who is leaving the utility to join Unicom Enterprises inChicago. English was previously vice president of electrictransmission and distribution, a post he held since 1996. He joinedConsumers Energy in 1969.

Edison International made Diane O. Wittenberg a vice presidentin charge of corporate communications for Edison International andSouthern California Edison. She will also continue her role indeveloping Edison International’s environmental policies.Wittenberg joined Edison in 1986 as manager of corporatecommunications. Most recently she was president of EdisonInternational’s electric vehicle subsidiary, Edison EV. Wittenbergreplaces Thomas Higgins, who accepted the position of president ofEdison Enterprises.
