Pennant Midstream LLC has inked a bundle of agreements to accept delivery of renewable natural gas (RNG) into its gathering system, bolstering efforts to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

The Pennsylvania-based company said it signed deals with a subsidiary of Australia’s Energy Developments Pty Ltd. (EDL) to accept RNG deliveries.

Under the agreements, Pennant would transport the RNG from the Carbon Limestone Landfill near Youngstown, OH, through its existing system and redeliver the gas to EDL’s downstream markets. The Carbon Limestone gas, a byproduct of naturally decomposing materials in the landfill, is to be processed and conditioned by an EDL North American RNG facility.
