An explosion last Friday (March 24) at a chocolate factory in West Reading, PA, that took the lives of seven people is under investigation as a potential natural gas fire.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has opened a safety investigation into what it called via a tweet a “natural gas explosion and fire.” Reports suggest a natural gas pipeline is the focus of the investigation.

The large explosion destroyed one building and damaged another at the RM Palmer Company’s factory, which lies about 60 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
