Flows to some customers of distributor Cascade Natural Gas weredisrupted Saturday when Northwest Pipeline’s 22-inch mainlineruptured near Pendleton, OR.

The line failure, which caused a fire but no injuries, affectedan intersecting six-inch lateral serving the Pendleton and WallaWalla, WA, areas. Northwest restored service Sunday morning bybypassing the 22-inch pipe and connecting a parallel 30-inch lineto the lateral. Repairs to the 22-inch line were completed Sundayevening, a spokeswoman said, but the lateral remained connected tothe 30-inch mainline as of Monday afternoon. Cause of the rupturewas still under investigation Monday.
