Tuesday around 6:30 p.m. (MST), an accident of unknown origin atan Idaho compressor station on Williams’ Northwest Pipeline systemkilled one worker and injured two others. Service on the pipelinewas not interrupted, according to a Salt Lake City spokesman withWilliams.

The incident occurred at the Pegram Compressor Stationapproximately 30 miles east of Soda Springs, Idaho. The two injuredworkers were treated at a local hospital. Williams said the namesof the employees are being withheld pending notification ofrelatives.

The accident occurred as the employees were returning thestation back into service after completing a construction project.There was no fire or damage to pipeline facilities. The cause ofthe accident is under investigation.

Williams’ Northwest Pipeline, based in Salt Lake City, Utah,operates 3,950 miles of natural gas transmission pipeline extendingfrom Sumas, WA, to the San Juan Basin in northern New Mexico. Thepipeline provides natural gas service to the Pacific Northwest andIntermountain region.
