Industry reports that the start-up of the Canada-to-IllinoisNorthern Border Pipeline expansion, which has been planned forearly December, may be delayed are unfounded, said an officialassociated with the project.

The reports surfaced after a Illinois Circuit Court Judge onSept. 4th issued a temporary restraining order and a preliminaryinjunction barring Northern Border from proceeding with construction in Kendall County, IL. The order was later vacated anddissolved by a U.S. District Court Judge on Sept. 8th, except withrespect to construction on the land of three landowners in KendallCounty. Since then, the pipeline said it has reached agreementswith the landowners enabling it to move forward on its project.

“We’ve reached agreement with the landowners on the remedialaction we must take. We’re moving forward,” said George A. Rood, vice president of operations and administration for Northern PlainsNatural Gas, operator of Northern Border.

“We fully anticipate an early December service date. We put anotice on our electronic bulletin board to that effect,” he toldNGI.
