Kinder Morgan Inc. subsidiary Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America (NGPL) is holding a binding open season for incremental storage capacity in its 2009 expansion project, which, as planned, will provide an additional 10 Bcf of firm capacity.
Firm capacity awarded can include up to 5 Bcf of delivered storage service, with the remaining firm capacity awarded as Gulf Coast nominated storage service. The additional capacity will be created with additional wells and compression.
The open season began Wednesday and continues until 3 p.m. CDT May 22. Subject to shipper commitments and regulatory approval, it is anticipated the project will be available for service on or about April 1, 2009.
