These two stroke engines deliver flexible dual-fuel propulsion and are operated on fuel oils or gases. They offer improved fuel consumption. Most new long-term charters (i.e. newbuild) today are MEGI or XDF vessels. MEGI (M-type, Electronically Controlled, Gas Injection). XDF (low pressure 2-stroke engine).
