Baseload natural gas prices for March were tracking mostly lower as the market appeared to close the book on winter and focused on increasing warmth in the coming weeks and robust supplies, according to NGI’s Bidweek Alert (BWA).

Though the region on Wednesday was in the midst of a series of brutal winter storms, West Coast prices fell considerably month/month based on deals executed on the first day of March bidweek trading. In the Rockies, Opal traded around $4.600/MMBtu for March baseload gas, down from an average of nearly $12.00 last month.

In the Desert Southwest, El Paso S. Mainline/N. Baja traded around $5.050, off from the $12.500 average for February delivery.
