Baseload natural gas prices for June delivery showed signs of recovery as stronger LNG demand and early summer heat lifted some areas of the Lower 48, while an improved supply situation in the West continued to knock down prices there, according to NGI’s Bidweek Alert (BWA).

The mixed bag for U.S. natural gas prices compared with higher prices at the benchmark Henry Hub, which experienced usual volatility in the days leading up to the June Nymex futures contract’s expiration. The June contract settled Wednesday, the first day of bidweek trading, at $2.398/MMBtu. July futures settled at $2.566.
