Israel has agreed to send more natural gas to Egypt, potentially stabilizing future LNG exports to Europe as Egypt balances calls for more supply and domestic demand.

Israeli Energy Minister Israel Katz said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that he had signed an agreement with Egypt to allow for additional gas resources from the Tamar field to be exported.

“The step will increase the state’s revenues and strengthen the political relationship between Israel and Egypt,” Katz said Wednesday. The ministry had not disclosed details on the volumes that could be added to Israel’s already prolific exports to Egypt.
