Rebecca McDonald, president and CEO of Amoco Energy Development,was named the 1998-1999 chairman of the Natural Gas SupplyAssociation last week. J. Larry Nichols, president of Devon EnergyCorp., was selected as vice chairman; Richard J. Sharples, vicepresident of marketing for Anadarko Petroleum, was madesecretary/treasurer.

California regulators have protested the proposed expansion ofPG&E Gas Transmission-Northwest, formerly Pacific GasTransmission, that would boost capacity at the pipeline’sKingsgate, BC, receipt point by 57,000 Dth/d on a year-round basisand an additional 20,000 Dth/d during the winter months. “…[I]tis even more imperative that the FERC place PGT at-risk for theproposed expansion,” the California Public Utilities Commissionsaid [CP98-167]. “This expansion project is not fully subscribedand most of the contracts for PGT’s expansion are only three yearslong.” If approved by FERC, the $6 million, compression-onlyproject would go into operation next November.
