Purestream Technology has contracted with Whiting Oil and Gas Corp. to deploy its Avara System, which can process up to 2,000 bbls of flowback water daily, for a water treatment project in Mountrail County, ND, to support Whiting’s operations in the Williston Basin. The clean finished water will be returned for continued use in hydraulic fracturing. The Avara system was developed in partnership with Utah State University’s Energy and Space Dynamics Labs.

GE has contracted with ProWater, a subsidiary of Sustainable Environmental Technology Corp., to build key components of ProWater’s Centerline SWD modular saltwater disposal and deep injection well systems. ProWater is scheduled to deliver the first Centerline system to a well in the Bakken Shale in North Dakota by the end of January 2012, with project completion in March 2012. Another three Centerline systems are scheduled to be completed at three additional Bakken wells in June, September and November 2012, respectively, followed by three more systems at three additional Bakken wells in 2013.
