Seal Beach, CA-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp. has expanded public access fueling for natural gas vehicles in both Chicago and Las Vegas, NV. Clean Energy recently opened two fueling stations in Chicago to support natural gas-fueled fleets of taxis, paratransit vehicles, service vans, refuse trucks and shuttle buses. Chicago-based Taxi Medallion Management has entered two 15-year contracts for compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling for more than 800 fleet vehicles from Clean Energy. Chicago’s environment department has implemented a Green Taxi program, enabling Chicago cab companies to receive from $9,000 to $14,000 for CNG vehicles purchased. In Las Vegas, Clean Energy opened a facility at McCarran International Airport. Bell Transportation will fuel its fleet of CNG taxis and shuttle buses at the facility.
