Freeport LNG Development LP this week asked federal regulators for approval to begin commercial operations from Train 1.

“Freeport has performed a full pre-startup safety review of Train 1, identified and completed corrective work necessary to be able to safely restart the unit, and is ready to commence activities to safely restart Train 1, beginning with re-inventorying Train 1 with refrigerants,” the company said in its FERC request.

Freeport added that Train 3 has been safely restarted and is in full commercial operations producing LNG. Train 2 is also in the process of restarting after the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission granted those approvals last week.
