Flex LNG Ltd. expects the market for LNG vessels to remain tight and charter rates to stay lofty for the next several years, especially if Europe faces a chilly winter this year, continuing the shipping firm’s streak of record revenues.

Headed into next year, CEO Øystein Kalleklev said Europe is expected to maintain a strong demand for liquefied natural gas as it tries to rebuild natural gas storage levels with even less Russian pipeline gas than in 2022.

With weather forecasts also predicting possible winter cold snaps for both Asia and Europe, increasing natural gas demand and the chance European buyers will be willing to pay massive premiums for gas, the spring spot market could be another busy one.
