In its third agreement in seven months, ExxonMobil’s low-carbon business has contracted with Nucor Corp.  to capture and store carbon emissions from its Convent, LA, manufacturing site.

The Nucor deal is to provide carbon capture and storage (CCS) for up to 800,000 metric tons/year of carbon dioxide (CO2). The three agreements to date give ExxonMobil contracts to manage around 5 million metric tons/year (mmty). 

“Our agreement with Nucor is the latest example of how we’re delivering on our mission to help accelerate the world’s path to net zero and build a compelling new business,” said ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions (LCS) President Dan Ammann. “Momentum is building as customers recognize our ability to solve emission challenges at scale.”
