LONDON (ICIS) – Global LNG prices remained volatile over the week, initially falling on firm supply, before picking up due to outages in Asia and a drop in gas deliveries in Europe.

The ICIS East Asia Index (EAX) lost $10.25/MMBtu in value across 29 September-4 October amid busy tender flows. But Asian spot LNG prices rose to $33.50/MMBtu on 6 October on an outage at Petronas’ Bintulu LNG plant.

However, the ICIS TTF front-month contract still retained a wide premium over the EAX of $19.08/MMbtu on 5 October, with the TTF rising to $51.58/MMBtu after falls earlier in the week. The rise came despite Gazprom saying it...
