Entergy Corp. recently reported that it expects to reach a regulatory milestone soon for its proposed Bridge City, TX, power plant, which would be fueled by natural gas and hydrogen.

The utility expects a Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) hearing in late April on its proposed 1.215 GW Orange County Advanced Power Station (OCAPS).

“If approved, this will be our first hydrogen-capable plant and will provide efficient power with the flexibility to utilize clean hydrogen,” CEO Leo Denault told analysts during the fourth quarter and full-year 2021 earnings call.
